WHY USE GEOPHYSICS?

It is part of our philosophy to promote geophysics as a key investigative tool, especially at the site evaluation stage. We aim to provide results that are easily integrated with existing site data. Typically, our surveys can refine interpolation between boreholes, sample points etc. by providing total site coverage at very high resolutions. Benefits are:

• Rapid Coverage - Depending on the type of survey, and resolution required, it is feasible to cover upwards of two hectares per day

• Non-Invasive - Excepting borehole methods, surveys are entirely non-invasive

• By utilising differing methodologies, a number of differing targets can be resolved in a single sweep. For example a GPR survey can identify subsurface services whilst mapping bedrock depth and identifying other in-ground structures such as foundations etc.

• Cost Benefit - Results can be used to either target invasive works, or reduce the total investment for these activities. However, geophysics does not entirely replace the need for intrusive work - the two compliment each other.
